With an influx of sexual assault allegations dominating news coverage, questions have been raised about the teenage brain’s decision-making abilities. Frances Jensen, MD, chair of Neurology and co-author of The Teenage Brain: A Neuroscientist’s Survival Guide to Raising Adolescents and Young Adults, discusses how teen brains are constantly re-wiring and why – despite their tendency towards impulsivity – teens can make rational choices and exhibit impulse control.
